LVMH Prize 2020 Called Off

LVMH Prize 2020 Called Off, Cash Prize Goes to All 8 Finalists

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to disrupt the cultural calendar, the LVMH Prize has called off its 2020 final.

The prize, which aims to nurture fledgling fashion designers, was originally scheduled to culminate in a final contest on June 5 at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. LVMH will instead distribute the over $325,000 cash prize evenly among eight finalists: Priya Ahluwalia of Ahluwalia, Charaf Tajer of Casablanca, Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena of Chopova Lowena, Nicholas Daley, Peter Do, Sindiso Khumalo, Supriya Lele, and Tomotaka Koizumi of Tomo Koizumi.

And in recognition of the economic threat that the pandemic poses to small businesses, LVMH established a fund that will benefit the prize’s previous winners. “In this challenging context, this fund highlights our main mission by supporting former winners,” said Delphine Arnault, Louis Vuitton’s executive vice president.
